Have A Great Idea? Read This!
When you have a great idea with huge potential, do you share them with other people or do you keep it to yourself?
If you are too afraid to share your ideas because someone else might steal them, you are missing out on a huge opportunity. According to Scott Belsky, the author of Making Ideas Happen, people have a hard time making their own great idea a reality, much less other people’s. Moreover, discussing ideas with others provides us with the important feedback we need to help us proceed and succeed with our ideas.
Next time you have a great idea, try sharing and discussing with your family, friends, and co-workers or even share it on your personal blog like Chris Anderson, Wired magazine's Editor-in-Chief, did when he came up with the idea of “Geek Dads” (a blog targeting nerdy, tech-obsessed fathers). He shared the idea on his own blog with the reasoning that if the idea didn’t attract a team within 6 weeks, he would simply drop it.
If you want to, feel free to share your ideas with me!
